STOP BEING SO HARD ON YOURSELF : WHY AND HOW (you need you)

WHY ARE YOU SO HARD ON YOURSELF?

HIRAL DHOKAD

STOP BEING SO HARD ON YOURSELF

We often focus more on what we did not achieve or did not do rather than on what we did.
We compare ourselves with others.
We don't really appreciate our efforts.

Everyone has their own struggles, their own dark places and everyone tends to hide it all and just show that "all happy zone".
It does not mean that it's "all good" for everyone and "no good" for you.
That's the main reason you start being hard on yourself.

Be it something related to work, relationship, money, dream, health and/or everything happening in life in general. Most of us don't feel satisfied or happy or greatful and it is kinda natural.
It's all human for you to feel how you feel.

But, the problem is that we blame ourselves, we pressurize ourselves, we make ourselves feel guilty for all those things happening around us, to us or to our loved ones.

Do you know why is it bad?
When you are angry on someone and they try to seek your forgiveness.. you accept their apology and forgive them.
But, when it comes to you being upset or angry on yourself.. you don't even try to apologize or try to forgive yourself.

This is called being hard on yourself.
When you are just struggling within.. how will you fight and win those outside battles?

You need to stop saying or putting those negative things to yourself as you are becoming the main reason of your de-motivation, stress and sadness.

You are the one letting yourself down whereas you should be the one supporting you, encouraging you, loving you, and most importantly respecting you.

When things don't workout sometimes in life (work, career, love) it may be because of many reasons including you. Remember.. not just you, "including you".
You might have been wrong in some or many places. You might not have given your 100% to it or you might have.
But sometimes things just don't go according to your plan or vision.
That's life..

But, you cannot just straight up stop caring about yourself or loving yourself.
You tried, maybe not enough but you tried and that counts for appreciation.

Your effort counts, your hope, your feelings, your dreams, your happiness everything matters.
You matter.
And that's what you must remember.

Things did not workout sometimes..  and it's OKAY that things did not work out sometimes
Even if you worked hard on something or did nothing.. it's okay feel low but it's not okay to blame, punish or be hard on yourself. Get up and keep going.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF YOU ARE BEING HARD ON YOURSELF LATELY..

  • your mistakes and regrets are part of your learning... take it as a lesson & move forward.
  • stop blaming and start understanding yourself.
  • everyone has their own unique journey, so focus on yours & stop comparing.
  • struggling is a part of learning, so learn don't see it as reason to quit.
  • accept you for who you are.. both your qualities and your flaws make you special.
  • people have their own opinions & you have your own brain. So you decide for yourself.
  • staying positive all the time is not possible .. sometimes just let yourself a bit loose.
  • it's always okay to express what you feel, just be with the correct people who understand you.
  • don't underestimate yourself, you are much more powerful than you think.
  • don't take criticisms as a barrier.. take it as a boost too work even harder.
  • you are your biggest commitment.

I know it's much easy said than done, but, sometimes to understand something you can't figure out on your own, hearing it from someone else really makes it clear.
I am no expert to be giving you any advises, it's just a heart to heart talk for someone who needed this right now.

I hope this blog made you feel better or helped you in any way.
You need you. You deserve you.
Love yourself.

  1. This is so uplifting and to the point. I really like this writing style. The best thing you can do for yourself, those around you, your goals and for the world is to be 100% authentically who you are and love that.
