Our thoughts often include what happened in the past, how things will turn in the future or just overthinking every stuff that comes up to us or happens in our life. 

We may take a break from things but it's our mind that keeps on rolling those things over and over and we keep having those thoughts.

There might be times when we are able to control these thoughts or let go of them but, many times they are just not in our control. We try a lot but just can't do it!

Most of these thoughts are negative. 
Thoughts that only or mostly focus on all the negative, bad or worse that can or may happen are "Negative thoughts".

The most irritating thing is that these are repetitive, they constantly go on and on in our mind causing stress, anger, disappointment, depressed feelings, anxiety and many feeling that make us feel sad. Which ends up messing with our inner peace and affecting our mental health.

So, here are some ways to deal with these thoughts..

5 WAYS TO DEAL WITH NEGATIVE THOUGHTS

1. Calm yourself
You have to calm yourself first. As you start overthinking stuff just ask yourself.. "why am I being so negative about it?" And then wait for a minute and take a deep breath. Just slow things down and try to feel your breath as if you are meditating. Even if you make your mind clear of those thoughts for some minutes that's an achievement! Try to get in some good memories or positive thoughts while you try to clear your mind. 

2. Perspective change
When you have those negative thoughts try to put thoughts from a different perspective. If you keep having thoughts about how things may go wrong, think about how things may go right too. 
If you let only those negative thoughts in your head, how will anything positive get in there? 
Every time you think about something that is sort of negative, make sure to think about it the positive way too. Sometimes that little positive hope can help turn down all the negative ones.

3. Welcome your happiness
Sometimes when we are stuck with all the negatives in our mind and nothing really feels positive, the best thing to do according to me is to do things that make you happy and make you feel peace.
It maybe anything like listening music, ice-cream, playing with your pets or kids, travelling, watching your favourite movies, reading books, cooking, or any of your hobbies. 
Trust me, doing things that make you happy will help you smile and feel peace even when those negative thoughts are messing up your mind.  

4. Take it all out
When negative things just keep going.. talking to someone close always helps.
Talk to someone that understands you and does not make you feel bad about your feelings or thoughts.
It can be anyone.. your best friend, your sibling, your dad, mom, some relative or even your pet! 
Just talk to that person, don't keep those feelings to yourself, sometimes you need to get it all out.
They may help you deal with it or at least you might feel a bit lighter after talking it out.
I spend time with my dogs when I feel like nothing positive is happening and just 10 minutes with them makes me so happy that I even forget those things.

5. Help yourself
No one knows you better than you, no one understands you better than you. You know your thought process and also the reason behind those thoughts. So try to figure it out. Stay calm, try to think about the positives that can happen, try to make yourself happy and distract your mind with all other happy things, concentrate on your work and many other ways that might work for you get all the negatives out. 
It's not that easy to do it.. but you have to, for yourself.
Take yourself out of that flood of negative thoughts and make yourself feel better and positive because it is all up to you!
Sometimes even small things help so much, like going out for dinner, getting dressed up or even taking a hot shower helps feel better. 


These were some ways that might help you deal with negative thoughts. 
I myself am such a big overthinker, and not at all kidding I always think about the worse that can happen. These are the ways I try to get rid of those thoughts and I hope it helps you too! 

Remember! Stay calm. Stay positive. Things will turn right, everything will be alright, you just have to deal with it because you are way stronger than you think you are..
